Eleanor Moore

Eleanor Moore was born in Chicago and classically trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of New York.

Her still lifes are reminiscent of works by the Dutch Masters with emphasis on color, shapes and atmosphere. Her still life subjects often include ceramic vases, oriental antiques, copper and brass pots, as well as textiles and rugs, all combined in a setting with fruit, vegetables or flowers, using a technique used as Chiaroscuro. The principle forms in her paintings are rendered through a balanced contrast between light and dark areas; thus creating an illusion of depth and space.
